Nokia Lumia 510 finally in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania

Nokia_Lumia_510_available_Kenya_Uganda_TanzaniaNokia has announced availability of the first Lumia smartphone in East Africa, the Nokia Lumia 510. This Nokia Lumia 510 is the most affordable smartphone in Lumia family.

One of the most exciting features of new Windows Phone OS is the live tiles which allows you to know what is going on with your phone at a glance. This phone, a Windows Phone device, is different to other smartphone platforms thanks to features like:

  • Live Tiles – make it easier to see incoming messages and updates
  • People Hub – brings together contacts and updates from across social networks into one location
  • Microsoft Office – for word and document processing suites
  • Internet Explorer 9 on the mobile
  • SkyDrive storage with Windows Account – This is coupled with the Microsoft input in the OS software

Bruce Howe, General Manager for Nokia East Africa says there has been so much excitement globally about our Lumia smartphones and it is great to now be able to bring them to the East African market. Nokia has started today with the Nokia Lumia 510. This builds on Nokia’s commitment to bring Lumia to lower price points and welcome more consumers to the Windows Phone experience.

Some of the Nokia Lumia experiences you may have the pleasure of enjoying include:

  • Downloading Camera Extras app for additional digital lens functionality to comliment the 5MP camera & built-in AutoFocus
  • Nokia Maps
  • Nokia Drive
  • Nokia Transport for comprehensive smartphone location and navigation experience

The Nokia Lumia 510 is based on the current Windows 7.5 platform, which you can upgrade to Window 7.8 (but not Windows Phone 8). Windows 7.8 brings great new functionality to the mobile device it can power. You can find it in either white or red colours.
