Nokia now has a new Asha Device with a dedicated Whatsapp Button. Yes, you read right. A Whatsapp Button that will now help you access the App faster. What is more is that all Nokia Asha 210 devices will come with Whatsapp as a free App.

The Nokia Asha 210 Build and Specs – It has a 2MP camera that is easily accessible using a dedicated hard-key even when the keypad is locked and various editing and sharing options for images. It also features a few added extras like Self-Portrait which helps to center self-portraits without the front facing camera (Yaay! to all those women who’re always taking duck-face pics of themselves) and a built-in voice that guides the user to ensure they are in the frame, before taking the shot.

Another extra is the Slam Feature that works by enabling the transfer of content such as images or videos to another Bluetooth-enabled phone without the need to pair devices.

Timo Toikkanen, Executive Vice President, Mobile Phones at Nokia noted that “The Nokia Asha 210 really stands out giving super-social consumers new ways to express their personalities through design, colour and innovations like the world’s first WhatsApp button. It has been designed to allow people to easily update their social networks, stay in touch with friends and share user created content.”

Brian Acton, Co-Founder of the hugely successful WhatsApp Inc. is also very excited about the partnership with Nokia’s Asha Range. “We are focused on delivering the best WhatsApp experience to as many people as possible,” he said.

The new Asha device also has Xpress Browser which Nokia developed to compress data by up to 90% and save users on the data connection bill at the end of the month.

The Nokia Asha 210 also features Nokia Nearby, a web app that lets people discover points of interest such as restaurants, shopping and ATM machines close to their location. Like a Foursquare but now built into the Nokia Asha OS.

Other features you may want to take note of in the Nokia Asha 210 are:

  • ·         Social phonebook integration with the ability to launch WhatsApp direct from contact cards in the Phonebook
