StarTimes Kenya To Air Local Channels Free Via Satellite

STARTIMES TO OFFER FREE TO AIR SERVICE JUUCHINI

Kenyans will now be able to watch their favourite local channels even after their subscription has expired, following a new free-to-view satellite TV service introduced by StarTimes Kenya.

The new service will allow subscribers of StarTimes to have unlimited access to KTN, NTV, Citizen, K24, KBC and QTV channels, at no cost after their subscription runs out.

StarTimes has made this available through the introduction of a new kit that will cost Kenyans Ksh 8,000 to purchase, and will be inclusive of the satellite dish, LNB, cable, HD Decoder, Installation and two months of free access to the Super bouquet worth KSh 5,000.

The company is also working to grow its subscriber base with the new service, as it allows an option for Kenyans subscribed to other services with a dish to make a purchase for the HD decoder only, at a cost of KSh 4,500.

So Kenyans on Zuku, or DStv can easily migrate to StarTimes if they want to have access to the free services through buying the HD Decoder and repositioning their dishes.

This new move will allow Kenyans in remote areas to enjoy the benefits that come with free-to-air decoders as satellite can be used almost anywhere, eliminating the limitations that came with the decoder that StarTimes launched sometime back to use terrestrial transmissions.

With the digital migration deadline nearing, this service from StarTimes brings good news for Kenyans who have over time complained about the migration to digital TV being expensive for them to afford.

Early this month, StarTimes media increased its local content provision by introducing Bollywood Swahili alongside 6 other channels.
