Following a Preorder Campaign launched last week for the all new Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, Samsung Electronics East Africa has announced that it has already started receiving preorders for the two flagships ahead of the official launch expected after April 10 when the devices are expected to ship.

Launched earlier this month at the Mobile World Congress 2015, the two devices were last week put up for preorders online and in that short time Samsung Mobile says it has received over 20 million preorders following the launch.

You already know about the cool designs that are featured on the new Galaxy flagships so I won’t bore you with a redo, but if you want a recap you can always click here for the specs and as the S6 Edge comes cooler and pricier, it seems to be receiving more love than the S6 Standard.

Robert Ngeru, VP & COO at Samsung Electronics East Africa said, “We have begun to receive enquiries for the Galaxy S6. The appetite for product is high because of its all new design, fast camera and wireless charging and the fastest processor in the market (Samsung Exynos 7420).”

Being that these two are the best smartphones that Samsung has introduced in forever, the Samsung S6 Edge did not go without notice as it received more than 20 awards at the MWC 2015 for its cool designs and even managed to get praise as the best product at the event by major technology sites including Ubergizmo, Mashable and Laptop Magazine.

The two S6 flagships also spot high-end software and mobile security capabilities that also received recognition, with Samsung KNOX being labeled the best security product of solutions by the GSMA. The mobile security platform continues to receive upgrades and has received accreditations across the globe.

Customers wanting to pre-order the Galaxy S6 (expected to price at KSh 75,000 for 32GB version) and Galaxy S6 Edge (KSh 90,000 for 64GB version) can place their orders at any Samsung Experience stores and authorized dealers that include Safaricom and FoneXpress and will be subject to get the wireless charger at no cost.

According to Robert Ngeru, the devices, which were launched in India at the start of the week, should be in the country on April 16. You can now set your timer.
