StarTimes Media has now launched its digital television service to cover regions as far off from Nairobi as Machakos County and its environs following a successful activation of its digital signal transmitter located at Mua Hills.

Residents across Kasaini, Kasinga, Tumba, Mumbuni, Kyanguli, Machakos Town, Katelemba and other surrounding areas of Machakos County will now have access the digital television service that includes both pay TV as well as free-to-air digital TV services and this has been seen as a key strategy to increasing its subscriber base at the county level.

The overwhelming reception for digital TV services as seen before and after the migration from analogue to digital broadcasting in Kenya goes a long way to confirm that Kenyans have a good and increasing appetite for rich and well done television content that comes at affordable rates and this continues to push StarTimes to the front in terms of providing access beyond urban centers of Kenya.

“Kenyans residing in urban areas were the first beneficiaries of the switch over from analogue to digital broadcasting however, we have now kicked off efforts to extend this service beyond urban centres key in not only growing our market share but also giving residents an enviable choice that will enrich their television viewing experience”, noted Mr. Mark Lisboa, Vice President at StarTimes Media.

StarTimes pay TV set top box will come at a special retail offer for Machakos residents at just KES 949 and this is inclusive of 5 months Nyota bouquet subscription absolutely FREE while the free-to-air set top box will retail at a one off fee of KES 3,299.

This new offering is seen as a big benefit to Machakos residents and will impact their economy by creating employment opportunities through product distribution and will ultimately grow the county residents access to both entertaining and informative content.
