Sony Xperia Z – An InDepth Review

Time and again Sony Mobile has offered users some amazing smartphones with gorgeous looks and awesome features. The company has once again lived up to its reputation with the launch of its new flagship smartphone called the Xperia Z. In this article, we’ll cover all the key aspects of this innovative Android handset.

Design:- Sony Xperia Z is an IP57 certified phone that can provide resistance against dust and water. The company guarantees that the handset can withstand exposure to water of up to 1 meter for a period of 30 minutes. It has a beautiful square-shaped body measuring 139 x 71 x 7.9 mm with rounded corners and curved edges. Both sides of the phone are covered with protective glass which helps prevent scratches and damage. With a weight of 146 grams, the phone also offers a comfortable handling experience.

Display:- Sony Xperia Z has 5.0 inches, 16m colors TFT capacitive display which has a resolution of 1080 X 1920 pixels, resulting into a pixel density of 441 pixels. It offers a brilliant combination of sharp image quality, wide viewing angles and good sunlight readability. It also includes Sony’s Mobile Bravia Engine 2 for enhancing the viewing experience further.

Hardware:- Sony Xperia Z possesses a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset featuring a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and 2 GB of RAM. For graphics, there is an Adreno 320 GPU. The phone’s internal memory stands at 16 GB but you can extend the memory capabilities further with the use of a microSD card of up to 32 GB. In addition, there are many cloud storage services which can be used by downloading their apps from the Google Play store.

On the rear side, you’ll find an amazing 13.1 megapixel camera with a single LED flash for shooting stills of up to 4128 x 3096 pixels and recording videos of full-HD 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second. It supports autofocus and has inbuilt image stabilization for producing noise-free and sharp image quality. The camera app has been loaded with some nice features like geo-tagging, face detection, HDR mode, sweep panorama mode, etc. that can be used according to your liking.

Software:- Sony Xperia Z arrives on shelves with Android Version 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS. The phone offers a wide array of apps like a web browser, music and video player, Google Maps, document editor, photo editor, Google Plus, Facebook, etc. for your day-to-day use. Additional apps can be further downloaded directly into the phone from Google Play.

Battery:- The device runs on a 2330 mAh non-removable Lithium-ion battery which provides a stand-by time of up to 13 days and talk time of up to 11 hours. The phone also has a battery saver mode which can be activated if you want to conserve power for a longer time.
