NOKIA BRAND IS BACK WITH NEW NOKIA N1 TABLET JUUCHINI

After Nokia announced that it had sold its mobile handsets division to Microsoft and the brand Nokia was phased out on all Lumia smartphones, Nokia has launched a new N1 tablet, marking its stay in the mobile devices business.

Nokia N1 tablet, will come with Nokia’s Z launcher software running on Google’s latest Android 5.0 lollipop operating system, features a 7.9-inch display with LED backlight and comes powered by a 64-bit 2.3GHz Intel quad core processor.

With 2GB RAM, the tablet comes with up to 32GB internal storage and an additional support for a micro SD. It sports an 8MP rear camera and 5MP front facing camera, and is capable of 1080p full-HD video recording.

The N1 tablet, which looks more like Apple’s iPad Mini and weighs 318 grams, has been introduced to be made available in two colours, natural aluminium and lava grey.

Nokia, which signed an agreement with Microsoft not to use its brand on smartphones till 2016, will make available the Nokia-branded tablet to customers beginning early next year through a brand-licensing agreement with an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partner.

The Finnish company said the OEM partner will be responsible for all business executions, including engineering and sales to customer care services such as liabilities and warranty cost, inbound IP and software licensing as well as other agreements with third parties.

“We are pleased to bring the Nokia brand back into consumer’s hands with the N1 Android tablet and to help make sophisticated technologies simple,” said Sebastian Nystrom, head of products Nokia.

Nokia N1 tablet will start pricing at 249 Dollars (about KSh 22,410).
