Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 Availability Announced Today

Microsoft has officially announced the availability of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 (Release 2) which supports multi-tenant customer deployments and provides some new tools for supporting large-scale hosting of Dynamics NAV.

Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 reflects Microsoft’s long-term commitment to the NAV partner community. It is meant to add significant new value for SMEs customers in the following areas:

  1. Great inter-operability with Microsoft’s new office application, unified communications, and mail client – Microsoft Office 365. Thie new release breaks helps the customer understand business data and how to optimize how work is done to maximize output. What’s new here is that Dynamics NAV can now be deployed as an application to both on-premise (in-building) and cloud-based (off-site) SharePoint sites. it offers a single sign on and a consistent look and feel across the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Web client and MS Office 365. Data integration here is deeper and enables customers extend Microsoft Dynamics NAV business processes with SharePoint workflows and Web parts, and take full advantage of Microsoft Excel and the Excel Web App inside Office 365
  2. Enhanced cash management capabilities – This will help customers manage risk and drive business growth. It has features such as automatic and manual payment processing, bank reconciliation tools, and support for SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) direct debit and credit transfer
  3. Different usability enhancements across Web and desktop clients – This makes Microsoft Dynamics NAV much simpler to use and faster to deploy. A restyled (fresher) Ux (User Experience) is aligned with MS Office 365 makes it even easier for people to access, view and edit business data and processes.
